    The Boss is Back!!!!!!!!!!

    2012 Boss 302S

The Iconic Muscle machine is back to take the thrown. The Boss Mustang is hitting the streets once again. As Edsel B. ford has so interestingly put it, “The 2012 Mustang Boss 302 is the quickest, best-handling straight-production Mustang ever offered by Ford.” It pays homage to predecessors but with a few tweaks that include lightening and strengthening key components, wrapping it all in the vintage color schemes that Boss Mustangs are known for still today and let’s not forget bumping up the engine to 440 BHP from the get go….

    2012 Boss Mustangs

Do you remember back in 1969, when a group of passionate Ford engineers created “the best, all around, road going machine ever created? That, my friends, was the day the small block, automotive legend, Mustang Boss 302 was born. But this time reinvented to the maximum potential possible. Finally…. After a 40 year absence, the Boss has returned!!!!!!!!!!!! This Mustang is in no doubt true to its predecessors without compromise.  It’s leaner, meaner, more powerful and faster than any Boss before it.

Get this…. One of the features that come with the new 2012 Boss 302 is the fact that it has 2 different keys!!! Why you ask???? One is for normal driving (called the Normal key) and the “Track Key” Marked in red.

    2012 Boss 302 Keys

The track key is designed to disable Skim-shift, Enable Launch control and even a Low beat idle sound distinct from the normal sound!!!!!!!!!!!!  What this does is it basically brings the 2012 Boss 302 R’s race calibration into your street machine. This is something that the ford industry has just created and has never been done before… Go Ford!!!!!!!!!!!!

As the Ford website quite distinctly puts it:

“Its handling was built to work in unison with the 440-hp Hi-Po V8, which means the Mustang Boss 302 can change its attack on a corner to the straightaway without a second’s hesitation. It is at home on the street and on the track. With its unique badging, top grille featuring a centered Pony tri-bar badge and the classic C-stripe, the 2012 Mustang Boss 302 pays homage to the ’69 Mustang Boss 302. It also offers a quad exhaust system with a distinct surround unmistakable growl.”

This car is ready to rock!!!

    New 2011 5.0 Ti-VCT V8

There have been many highlights within the Mustangs 45 years of existence. We have had many different and amazing models built such as the 1969 Boss 429, 2000 Cobra-R, 2005 GT-R and the 2010 Shelby GT-500. Not to mention the fun we have all had watching the owners drive, drag, race, drift, rally and customize these extraordinary machines. But now, ford has reached a new milestone in the Mustang world. They have created two brand new, state of the art engines available only exclusively for the Ford Mustang. The Coyote 5.0 Four-Valve  TiVCT V-8 and the 3.7 liter TiVCT V-6. Although, during this specific post, I will be writing about the 5.0 V8 engine. The V6 engine post will be coming soon.

The Coyote 5.0 Four-Valve TiVCT V-8 pays tribute to Mustang history as well as traditional Mustang enthusiast performance expectations. This is all done at the same time as ultimately embracing the constant changes in technology. This new 5.0 engine was originally conceived in 2007 to replace the 4.6 and 5.4 Modular V-8’s.This was due to Fords need  to build a new Mustang GT engine to compete against the new Chevrolet and Dodge efforts. Many people might be amazed that the Hurricane and Boss engines were initially explored, it turned out that those two engines proved unsuitable for the new Mustang. Eventually, a 6.2-liter SOHC Two-Valve version of that engine was put in the new SVT Raptor. Ford decided to regroup the familiar modular engine family in order to create an all-new modular development specifically for the Mustang.

The new engine’s originated its production roots with the existing 4.6 modular architecture.  Accvording to March, 2010 issue of 5.0 Mustang & Super Fords By Tom Wilson “It would not use EcoBoost- Ford’s combination of direct fuel injection and turbocharging-but it would be engineered to withstand forced induction and to package EcoBoost fuel injectors in the future. The new engine would be as physically small as possible while physically stronger than the 4.6. Naturally, the team quickly landed on 5.0 liters of displacement. It needed to make 80 hp per liter, or 400 hp. Best of all, as a performance engine the Coyote development team knew the importance of delivering an exciting engine, one that just didn’t meet its numbers, but had the precision and responsiveness enthusiasts crave.”

This new engine is an all-aluminum, 5.0-liter, double-overhead-cam, four-valve-per-cylinder powerhouse. Ford raised the Mustang GT’s redline to a career high of 7,000 rpm and boasts an 11.0:1 compression ratio, a low-friction compact roller-finger follower valvetrain, varied timing on all four camshafts, weighs a svelte 430 pounds as-shipped (approaching 1 pound per horsepower and not gaining a pound over the 4.6 Three-Valve), and sails through every brutal Ford durability and emission test. Benefitting from the latest in computational fluid dynamics, computer modeling, computer-aided engineering and rapid prototyping, the Coyote answers Mustang enthusiast’s dreams with 1.4 horsepower per cubic inch right off the showroom floor as stated by  March, 2010 issue of 5.0 Mustang & Super Fords By Tom Wilson.

Given its intent, performance, and mainstream production, it promises to be one of the most important Mustang V-8 engines of all time.

    Pony Car Wars!!!

With the arrival of the Mustang GT 5.0, it’s time for all pony car enthusiasts to rev up their engines and get the classic battle between Ford, Chevy and Dodge underway.  Our friends at motor trend decided to do the honors and actually compare the impressive 2011 Ford Mustang GT 5.0, the powerful 2010 Camaro SS, and the stylish 2010 Dodge challenger SRT-8. The results in this competition are rather interesting and speak for themselves. Here’s the video for those of you who are interested in watching:

I must admit, the new 2011 mustang is something worth talking about. It is after all, “The King of the Pony car hill” according to Motor trend.

    New and Improved!

    2011 Mustang V6

I believe that it is safe to say that both the 2011 Mustang V6 and 5.0 are going to make all other American Pony Cars eat their dust. I’m excited about these two monsters finally hitting the road and seeing them in action with all their glory. I’m also looking forward to the day when I’ll finally have one to join all the other Enthusiasts out there in spreading the word that Mustang power houses are back.

    2011 Mustang GT

According to Car and Driver, the 2011 Mustang V6 finishes the ¼ mile in 14.0 seconds at 104 mph and goes from 0-60 in 5.4 seconds.

While the 2011 Mustang 5.0 finishes the ¼ mile in 13.2 seconds at 109 mph and accelerates from 0-60 in 4.6 seconds. This is an improvement on both models.

Now, I respect all the other pony cars out their like the Chevy Camaro and the Dodge Challenger. They are very nice cars and they do deserve respect. So please, all the mustang enthusiasts out there, let’s not try to rub it harshly in their faces that the 2011 Mustang might be a better car. I believe that when all is said and done, all the Pony car enthusiasts will come together to talk about the 2011 Mustang. That’s what we all want anyway.

Much respect to the other Pony car fans out there!

    V6 Power!

This year, the arrival of the 2010 Chevy V6 Camaro (which offers 300 hp) and the 2010 Dodge V6 Challenger with 250 hp marked a turning point in V6 muscle heritage. The V6 Mustang has always had a less provocative appeal towards mustang fans due to a variety of reasons. But mostly because of the lack in power and performance as compared to some of the other vehicles available (like the 2 mentioned above). But that is all going to change with the arrival of the 2011 Mustang V6 package.

    2011 Mustang V6

    2011 Mustang V6 Package

The 2011 Ford Mustang V6 comes with a newly developed all-aluminum Duratec 3.7-liter DOHC Ti-VCT engine. This engine will have an output of 305 horse power and 280 ft.-lb. of torque. This new engine allows the 2011 Mustang to return with an estimated 19/30 mpg (city/highway) ratio and a 6-speed automatic transmission.  It will also feature a 6-speed manual transmission with a 18/29 mpg (city/highway) ratio. Production of the new 3.7L V6 engine for the 2011 Ford Mustang will take place at the company’s recently remodeled Cleveland Engine Plant.

The 2011 Ford Mustang V6 will also offer the choice of a Performance Package that includes  GT-based suspension and braking components, a 3:31 performance rear axle as well as an electronic stability control. This new feature of the 2011 Ford Mustang V6 compromises a great sport setting for the vehicle that is ready for track use.

Here is a video from motor trend that demonstrates what was just said. Enjoy!!

    Off road anyone????

When you think about the word “2010 Mustang”, what comes to mind? If you’re thinking a 300+ horse power muscle machine that tears it up in the drag strip, your write. But that’s not all the 2010 mustang can do. Ever think about taking that machine of the asphalt and into the dirt???  J.B. Niday did. For those of you who do not know, He is the managing director of Rally America.

    2010 Rally Mustang GT

    2010 Rally Mustang GT

How did he accomplish this feat??? Well, all he did was take a stock 2010 Mustang GT and added a role cage, a rally computer, race seats, HID light bar and some off road tires and the recipe was complete. He also made two of his rally driving friends (Mike Hurst and Mark Utecht) go head to head in a competition. The rally took place in Ojibwe forest rally in Minnesota. What was the prize? Why, the 2010 Rally Mustang they were driving, of course…

Who won? Well, I guess you will have to see the video to find out. Enjoy!!!

    Ford has done it again!!!!!

Well, ford is certainly on a role this year. They are not wasting any time with the new 5.0 engine that is all the rave in Mustang society. Now, they added a new model to their line-up of the already impressive 2010 ford Mustangs. It’s called the Mustang RTR. This vehicle is part of ford’s New Generation of Mustangs. This impressive machine came to life thanks to Vaughn Gittin Jr’s design team and the Classic Design Concepts crew. This package is available for the 2010 Mustang GT and will soon be available for the 2010 V6 Mustang. This package delivers both performance and appearance upgrades.

In performance, the RTR Mustang offers a Supercharger offering 550 horses, Falken FK452 performance tires, and upgraded rear sway bar, Ford Racing shocks, 1.5 lowering springs, cross drilled and slotted rotors, Ford racing tune, K&N Air filter and extremely throaty mufflers that are 50 state legal.

In appearance, the RTR offers RTR 19.5 x 9.5 Rims, RTR exterior and interior badges, RTR floor mats, front chin spoiler with splitters, side splitters, a rear diffuser, an aluminum rear spoiler and RTR contrast stripes.

    Mustang RTR

If you think that’s cool. There’s more…. There is another Mustang in this series. It’s called the Mustang RTR-C mustang. What does the “C” stand for… CARBON FIBER!!!! Yes… This Mustangs body is completely made out of Carbon Fiber. The sad news though is that this Stang is going to be limited to 10 production cars that will be sold for about $135,000 each. So, what does this mean… Most of us will never get one…**Sigh**. Anyway, here is a picture of the car. Enjoy!!!!

    The Monster itself!!!!!

It’s here! God of War 3!!!!!

    Kratos is back!!!

Well, yesterday was a big day for all the people that were awaiting the arrival for God of War 3. And I must say, the game was well worth the wait.  Kratos is back in all his glory to kick some Olympian butt. The game has impressive, if not astonishing, graphics and the gameplay offers brutal kombat and an intense sense of scale that adds to the franchise and provides a great ending to Kratos’ Saga.

For those of you who are new to the franchise (which is probably a small bunch), here’s a  brief synopsis of what’s happening:

Kratos, the Ghost of Sparta, was betrayed by the gods of Olympus  who he served faithfully and trusted for more than 10 years and has returned to their home with an army of impressive Titans to extract a revenge that only the divine blood of the Olympian gods can satisfy. Many other mythological beings will also suffer the wrath of Kratos, Centaurs and harpies will be dismembered, eyes will be ripped from the heads of Cyclopes, Skeletal minions will meet their doom, and the gods themselves will be slain in order to quench Kratos’ thirst for revenge. In the end, Kratos will get what he wants and deliver Zeus his reckoning for their betrayal in this final chapter of Kratos’ saga.

My rating for this game: 9.0

Here are some game trailers for God of War 3. Enjoy…
